NRHA / North American Affiliate Championship NEWS
Well another year of showing has come to an end. Hopefully everyone met their goals for the year and now is the time to set new ones. We will again host 3 affiliate shows this year beginning with Cardston in May. The dates will be May 27, 28, & 29 in Cardston, June 10-13 and July 2-4 in Red Deer so mark your calendars.
Something new this year is that you will no longer be required to have a Reining Canada membership to compete in any NRHA classes; this includes the NAAC qualifiers or the finals in Oklahoma City. Of course you will still have to be a member in good standing of the NRHA and of Reining Alberta. Also new for this year, we will be offering a full slate of qualifying classes. I would like to remind you to fill out your Affiliate designation forms before the August 1st deadline. (This is a change from 2009’s July 1st deadline.)
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone who traveled to Brandon for the Western Canada Affiliate championships and those that qualified for Oklahoma. In Oklahoma Bailey Kolsen and West N Smart ended up 3rd in the youth 13 & under NAAC class and 4th in the ancillary class. Danielle Kakoshke was 14th in the youth 14-18 NACC class on Major Hollywood Star. Congratulations Bailey and Danielle! Congratulations also to Kyle Weston who won the NAAC Open on Wranglers Leo Wilson and was 4th in the NACC Limited Open. Congratulations to Amanda Antifaev on Lakota Chic who won the Open Ancillary class and was 2nd in the Novice Horse Level II ancillary class.
Good luck to everyone in 2010, hope to see you in the warm up pen!!

One Down Two To Go !!
The first show in the race to qualify to represent Reining Alberta in the Western Affiliate Finals is over - Congratulations to all the top ten riders and to everyone else who competed in Cardston (no rain, will wonders never cease?). Everyone is talking about the traveling to Winnipeg in September so I need to let you know that the finals will be held in Brandon this year on Sept. 25th to 27th. This shortens the drive by a few hours and I have heard that the facility is brand new and just as nice as Pineridge, hopefully my informant is correct as the ground at Pineridge was worth the drive. The next show is in Red Deer on June 4th to 8th. Good luck to everyone who will compete there. Also remember if you haven’t designated an affiliate, the deadline is the end of June. For complete affiliate rules and designation form, check the links above. On another note I neglected to mention that Vanessa Noble represented RA at the NAAC in Oklahoma. Sorry Vanessa, congratulations on making the finals in 2008.
